Three years after losing full national accreditation, the Teachers College graduate programs are fully accredited again. "A lot of hard work was put in by people to make it happen," Roy Weaver, dean of Teachers College, said, "but we always felt we were right from the beginning, and this is confirmation we were.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Emotional Cardinals upset BG, lose to WMU

The Ball State University women's tennis team wore its emotions on its sleeve this weekend. The apex of that emotion happened Friday, when the Cardinals stunned a 13-4 Bowling Green squad 4-3. "I still think that Bowling Green, player for player, probably has a little bit more talent," coach Kathy Bull said.

MEN'S TENNIS: Cards dominate Buffalo 7-0

Playing in less than ideal conditions, the Ball State University men's tennis team used a solid all-around performance to hand Buffalo a decisive 7-0 defeat on Saturday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. The Cardinals didn't let the wind blow away their chance to win their first Mid-American Conference match of the year.

Just as spring arrived in Muncie, the Ball State University softball team returned from its two month road-trip to play its first home and conference games of the season. Students rally against racism, for unity

With raised fists and shouts of "Whose streets? Our streets" a crowd of Ball State University students and supporters marched down McKinley Avenue Friday afternoon. Event organizer Ennis Adams said an incident last night inspired the rally. Adams and nearly 100 others were playing a game of midnight tag when the group was approached by police, Adams said.

SOFTBALL: Cardinals play first home games

After 16 games and 35 days into a season that started in late February, the Ball State University softball team (6-10) will finally play its first home game of the year this weekend as they begin their conference schedule. The Cardinals open Mid-American Conference play with a double-header against Akron University (8-13) this afternoon and then single games against Ohio University (15-15) Saturday and Sunday.

The Health Center offers two hour-long smoking cessation classes per month during three months each semester. One class is offered around noon and the other in the afternoon, health educator Lisa Thomason said.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Ball State looks to carry momentum into weekend

The Ball State University men's volleyball team gets a relatively light weekend as it gets Friday evening off to rest for Saturday's conference match against the Lewis Flyers (9-13, 2-5 Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association). Ball State (17-5, 5-4 MIVA) beat Lewis 3-0 (30-25, 30-24, 30-14) during their last contest at Lewis, in Romeoville, Ill.
