"Epic adventure" begins for Springfest

 Ball State University Senior Nick Armogida promises this year's Springfest will be an "epic adventure." After becoming the main organizer of the music festival two years ago, Armogida has watched Springfest grow from a small collection of local bands to a yearly event some people travel 24 hours to attend.

SOFTBALL: Ball State continues MAC slate with trip to Buffalo

If the numbers are any indication, ace Elizabeth Milian and the Cardinals' pitching staff should continue to roll against the Bulls (13-21, 3-3 MAC). Buffalo ranks 11th out of 12 MAC teams in batting with a .222 team average and also rank 11th in runs (80) while ranking 10th in hits (180).

Months of training and dieting paid off for the Ball State University students that competed at this year's Mr. and Ms. Ball State body building competition.

Big impact of local record stores

 25 bands will perform at Village Green Records between April 16 and April 17. The event will provide the Muncie community with an opportunity to be exposed to a collection of arts with many diverse styles ranging from folk to hip-hop.

Pretender/Contender pulses with intense lyrics, vocals

 Pretender/Contender is the shape of punk, hard-core and indie to come. The band garners influence from Refused, Minus the Bears, Native, La Dispute and This Town Needs Guns. Pretender/Contender consists of Mike Schaffner on guitar, Ryan Harvey on drums and Lucas Carter on bass and vocals. Carter has been playing music for 11 years and said he has gained his best friends and best memories from his musical experiences.

Ball State gets access to South American telescope

Ball State University students and faculty now have access to a telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. It is the second telescope they have access to, with the intention of expanding their research.
