During warm-up shooting before a game, the generally oversized shooting shirts and pants look all the more ridiculous on this tiny person.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals fall at home after scoreless stretch

Although the patented Ball State scoring drought made an appearance in Saturday's loss to Miami (OH), the Cardinals finally locked down on defense when their own offense was faltering. Instead of letting their opponent speed away on a scoring run like in their first three Mid-American Conference games, Ball State (4-8 overall, 0-4 MAC) contained Miami to only four points during the Cardinals' six-minute scoreless stretch in the first half.

After taking a month-long hiatus from competition, the men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to action Friday. The women's team beat the University of Illinois-Chicago (177-64) and Illinois State (169-73), while the men's team lost to UIC (139-104).

Muncie honors MLK Jr.

Ball State University students and Muncie residents come together to embrace the dream of unity during an annual candlelight march and service. Marchers acknowledge that the fight to overcome racism is far from over. The flickering candles during Monday night's march reminded Ball State University senior Kenny Daniels that the fight to abolish racism hasn't died. It just hasn't been as strong as it could be. "A lot of people are not aware of the things Martin Luther King tried to implement," Daniels said, recalling the incidences of racism that occurred on campus last semester.

The men's basketball team is looking for a full 40 minutes of great play. By returning home to Worthen Arena on Saturday, Ball State will be looking to end its recent trend of letting long scoring droughts wreakhavoc on their gameplan. Saturday's game against Miami will also showcase Cardinals fans dressed in white.

The women's basketball team returns to Muncie on Saturday to play Central Michigan in its first conference home game of the season. The Cardinals have played their previous seven games on the road and haven't played at Worthen Arena in more than a month.
