Insurance can help students overseas

Students fall, get into car accidents and break bones whether they are at Ball State University or studying in another country, but Ball State wants to make sure they are taken care of regardless of their location. Accidents, like when Chris Horner broke his neck two weeks ago while studying at the Australian Centre, bring safety issues on campus and on school trips to the university community's attention, Jim Coffin, director of the Rinker Center for International Studies, said.

In a sport where one second can mean the difference between first and second place, the Ball State University women's swimming and diving team seemed to be just a few seconds ahead of the University of Akron. The team won 10 of the 16 events en route to a final score of 184-116 Saturday afternoon.

CROSS COUNTRY: Close race leaves Ball State behind pack

The Ohio University Bobcats were the victors with Carime Reinhart of Ohio the individual winner in 20:02.90. The Bobcats were followed by Bowling Green State University, the University of Akron, Toledo University and Ball State. The final results of the race indicate how close the race was, team-wise, with the Cardinals only 22 points from third place.

Atrium, off-campus house windows broken by small projectiles

October 31, 2006

A window at the Atrium was cracked and another was broken at an off-campus house Monday night by clear, plastic, marble-sized balls, Ball State University Police said. The first shooting was at about 9 p.m. in the Atrium, Sgt. David Bell said. The ball hit the window and cracked it.

I believe that this current system is causing problems with the satisfaction of most of the students here at Ball State University. Judge sets dates for players' trial

Two Ball State University football players will spend another weekend in the Delaware County Jail until their bail is set at a bond hearing 9 a.m. Monday, jail officials said. The initial hearing for Brandon Houston and Eulas Taylor III was held Thursday to determine the dates for each student's upcoming trials and hearings, Diane Frye, Delaware County deputy prosecutor, said.
