Cardinals defeat Chippewas and advance to the 2022 MAC Baseball Championship Tournament Championship Game

In their second game of the 2022 MAC Baseball Championship Tournament, the No. 1 seed Ball State Cardinals (40-17, 32-7 MAC) defeated the No. 2 seed Central Michigan Chippewas (39-17, 30-7 MAC) 9-7. The Cardinals are set to face the winner of May 28’s 10:30 a.m. game between Central Michigan and Toledo (33-24, 23-16 MAC) in the Championship Game at approximately 2:30 p.m. May 28.

Cardinals defeat Bobcats on walk-off home run in each team's first 2022 MAC Baseball Championship Tournament game

No. 1 seed Ball State Baseball (39-17, 32-7 MAC) defeated No. 4 seed Ohio (29-23, 21-15 MAC) 6-4 after freshman designated hitter Hunter Dobbins hit a walk-off home run to end a game that began over 24 hours earlier, with constant weather delays and postponement pushing the game back a full day.

The contest has been tentatively rescheduled for 10 a.m. May 26 at Ball Diamond at First Merchant's Ballpark Complex in Muncie, Indiana.
