Wii stimulates user interaction

Nintendo commercials for the Wii console attempt to lure in gamers with the slogan "Wii would like to play." Gamers worldwide are echoing that statement and letting Nintendo no that they too would like to play. Based on sales through January, the $250 Nintendo Wii is outselling the $500 to $600 Playstaion 3 and the $300 to $400 Xbox 360, according to the market research group NPD.

MEN'S GOLF: Team travels to Arkansas for UALR Invite

After failing to finish in the top half of the field in six of its seven meets, the Ball State University men's golf team will returns to action at the UALR Collegiate Invitational in Little Rock, Arkansas. Coming off a 17th place finish out of 18 teams at the Pinehurst Invitational, the Cardinals look to find their stroke at the Chenal Country Club.

Administrator takes position at California-Davis

Nona Richardson, who has spent the past five years as associate athletics director and senior woman administrator at Ball State University, will leave next month to take an athletic administration post at the University of California-Davis. Richardson was named senior associate athletics director at the school, filling a void left by Pam-Gill-Fisher, who retired.

Birth control costs double across nation

Women who use the Amelia T. Wood Health Center's pharmacy to purchase birth control will soon be paying at least double for their prescriptions. "It's hard to know how it will affect [students]," Kent Bullis, director of the health center said Tuesday. "We've discussed it at great length and are very concerned about it.

SOFTBALL: Squad plays well despite 1-3 record

Although the Ball State University softball team lost three of its four games this weekend, coach Craig Nicholson said the team played better than its record showed. Ball State (8-17) concluded the Iowa Tournament Sunday with a 5-0 win against South Dakota State University.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Host Cardinals win tourney

After losing the first two games to No. 9 Pacific University Saturday, coach Joel Walton had one message to the No. 15 Ball State University men's volleyball team during the intermission: He was embarrassed. The message was well received as Ball State (12-9) came back to defeat Pacific (14-11) in five games (27-30, 20-30, 30-23, 30-24, 15-13) and won the Don Shondell/Active Ankle Challenge.

MEN'S TENNIS: Cardinals victorious on trip to Buffalo

The Ball State University men's tennis team kicked off its Mid-American Conference season with a 5-2 victory over the University at Buffalo. Coach Bill Richards said the trip to Buffalo, N.Y. can be very draining, but the team still played well. "We just took care of business one match at a time," Richards said.

Students present plan at Speedway

Two Ball State University students will have 500 seconds to present a business plan in the back of the limousine today as it drives around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. If their presentation for the Nascent 500 Business Plan Challenge is successful, the students could win $10,000.

Wabash River provides inspiration for local artists

Muncie residents will have the opportunity to view the Wabash River from 100 different angles in all four seasons March 24 through June 24 at Minnetrista. Local artists David Dale and Jim Faulkner traveled more than 500 miles during a span of 15 years to capture the Wabash River in order to complete the display.
