Five-year-plan to increase international enrollment

The presence of international students on campus offers students who haven't gone overseas the opportunity to be exposed to different cultures and opinions, Martin Bennett, director of international services, said. Bennett said the influence of international students enrolled at Ball State University would increase during the next five years to cause changes on campus.

The Delaware County Prosecutors office declined to comment whether senior linebacker Wendell Brown, who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, is allowed to travel to Toronto for the Jan.

Prosecutor still to decide whether to file charges on Delta Tau Delta members

Delaware County Prosecutors Office has not yet decided whether to press charges against two Delta Tau Delta members who were arrested in connection with a theft at Theta Chi fraternity house. Deputy Prosecutor Eric Hoffman said he had received all evidence from the theft, but he is still reviewing the case.

The Delaware County Prosecutors Office has not yet pressed charges against five Ball State University-affiliated women who were arrested in connection with a beating in October. Members of Trendz of Essence will strut their stuff during their Fall Fashion Show Saturday. Event coordinator Candice Jackson said the event would begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Center. Doors open at 7 p.m., and admission is $5. "Our motto is 'Leaders in Understatement,'" Jackson said.

Student film to be screened Saturday

A group of Ball State University telecommunications and theater students will premier a film they produced at 8 p.m. Saturday in Pruis Hall. Ryan Underwood, communications director for Public Relations Student Society of America, said the students produced the film "Grove Lake," which is a coming-of-age story about a reporter.

When the Ball State University men's basketball team visits Terre Haute Saturday night to face Indiana State University, it'll be looking to avoid writing a chapter in the Ball State history books. N*W*C Coordinator Danielle Pye said she thought bringing the three-person group to campus was important because of Ball State's lack of diversity.

An upgrade to wireless technology at Ball State University keeps students more updated, gives them faster internet connection in more places and networks the university better, according to a recent research study students conducted. Bizhan Nasseh, director of wireless research and mapping, said Ball State recently released its study on WiMax, a broadband wireless technology that can access all rural and under-served areas of Ball State and around America.

After 11 years, excited fans eagerly awaiting a Ball State University appearance in a bowl game will embark on an eight-hour journey from Muncie to Toronto aboard chartered buses. The Alumni Association announced Wednesday that it finalized a package for fans to travel to the International Bowl.

Jaimie Owen, president of Freedom by Design, said the organization was part of the American Institute for Architecture Students, which is a national program that works with 36 schools around the nation.
