MEN'S TENNIS: Cardinals set to tackle state rival

Ball State University will try to stay atop the food chain in Indiana as the men's tennis team will play Indiana State University Sunday. The Cardinals are 4-1 on the year against in-state opponents. Unlike other varsity sports, Ball State and Indiana State don't appear to have a recruiting battle for local talent.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Top 12 wins this season for the No. 12 seed Cardinals

1) vs. Bowling Green in Mid-American Conference Championship Game Sunday: The first ever for the program, Ball State came into the game as a slight underdog to the Falcons, who have dominated the MAC in women's basketball during the past few seasons. Also, the win gave Ball State 25 wins on the season, the most ever for the program.

GYMNASTICS: MAC Championship goes through Ball State

The 2009 Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Championships will be held at Ball State University, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday in Worthen Arena. The Cardinals (4-13, 1-5 MAC) hold the fifth place spot in the conference standings, edging Western Michigan University (3-12, 0-6 MAC) by one win.
