First SGA debate brings increased student support

Letterman Building Room 125 was nearly full as students came out to support the three slates running for the Student Government Association executive office. Current Vice President Bryan Kubel said this debate has not usually gotten much attention in years past.

Taking on the No. 2 team in the nation, the Ball State men's volleyball team failed to end its losing streak as Lewis swept the Cardinals on Feb. 12.

Fantasy Man: An Artist's Experience In the World of Geek Culture

Flying serpents, ebony-skinned elves and fantastic vistas teeming with foreign life inhabit the covers of our favorite fantasy novels, but it can be easy to forget the artists serving as the gatekeepers to new worlds. You can’t judge a book by its cover, but you can certainly ponder the journey the artwork and its creator took to get it to you. Enter Tracy Flynn, fantasy artist and painter. The middle-aged stepfather of one has a knack for bringing to life imaginative worlds evocative of Dungeons & Dragons, turning his passion for the art into a large part of his identity.

The Village bars: a closer look

After a two-day beach party, which required filling the entire first floor of Dill Street Bar & Grill with sand, Ball State alum Shane Nelson remembers the hours it took cleaning up afterward with co-workers and friends. “I can’t even tell you all the ridiculous pieces of clothing and random stuff we found in that sand,” Nelson said.

Park Hall to get 2 signs

Park Hall has been open for nearly eight years and is the only Residence Hall to not have a sign identifying the building. Park Hall Council President Anthony Cook reached out to Student Government Association senator James Wells about writing legislation to get a sign for Park Hall. The only signage Park Hall has is a plaque in the lobby dedicated to Don Park, after whom the building was named, Cook said.
