Ball State students celebrate the start of the fall season with Fall Fest Sept. 26 at the University Green
This past weekend on Saturday, Sept. 21, Downtown Muncie was filled with activities and attractions for the entire community to enjoy during the Fire Up Festival. This two-day event was presented by Muncie Downtown Development Partnership and Ivy Tech Community College. With a mixture of hot air balloons, spicy foods, and live entertainment, the festival serves as a celebration to the end of summer for the whole of Muncie to enjoy.
Ball State kicked off its 100th season of football in a game against Missouri State on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 7. The first game of the year means the first tailgate of the year. Students and fans gathered in the fields outside of Scheumann Stadium before game time to celebrate with drinks, food, and games.
Ball State Soccer played their first home game in 19 days on Sunday, Sept. 8, which also happened to be the team's senior day, and put on an impressive performance. Junior Delaney Caldwell scored the team's first goal in under three minutes into the first half. After a successful weekend, including a win against Big 10 opponent Michigan, Ball State came into the game with momentum. Even though the first half was quiet, the team rallied in the second half, scoring six goals and setting a new program record for the second-most goals in Ball State soccer history.
