Microsoft and Mojang have just announced that Minecraft: Education Edition will be launching this summer for teachers and education institutions around the world to use. The Education Edition is actually an “expanded” version of an already existing program called MinecraftEdu. This special version of Minecraft has been used by teachers and other education institutions since 2011, and is a modded version of the game that is appropriate for classroom use.
