Veterans at Ball State speak out about struggles they face on campus

Trenton Wesley, a former specialist (E-4) in the United States Army, is currently a member of the Individual Ready Reserve and a freshman criminology major at Ball State. Wesley is one of multiple veterans on campus who said they face more obstacles than the average student in their education.

3 takeaways from Ball State's loss to Northern Illinois

 Ball State Football fell short to Northern Illinois in a battle for the Bronze Stalk Trophy. The Huskies 30-29 win eliminated the Cardinals from contention in the Mid-American Conference Championship game. With two games remaining for Ball State, there is still a bowl game to play for.

Ball State students call for an on-campus minimum wage raise

Jake Seymore, junior telecommunications major, is one of many Ball State students who has an on-campus job. Working for University Media Services (UMS) as an equipment check-out assistant, Seymore makes $7.25 an hour — the current federal minimum wage. Living in off-campus housing, affording rent, tuition and other bills have turned into daily worries for him.

A century ago, if you asked someone the definition of the term finer things in life, you might have heard responses like, a good cigar, or tailor-made clothing. Those two still fit the definition, but the 2020s generation of working people are more likely to include products like high-tech mattresses, vaporizers, and quiet rooms in their homes.
