MEN'S BASKETBALL: Lampley nets career-high tying 15 points in 82-69 win against Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The Ball State University men's basketball team defeated host University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee 82-69 Tuesday night to improve the Cardinals' overall record to 3-1 on the season. Senior guard Brandon Lampley had a career-high tying 15 points in the win, while the formula of high scoring from freshman center Jarrod Jones and a double-double from senior forward Anthony Newell stood true again.

FOOTBALL: Ball State announces travel, ticket offers for MAC championship game

Ball State University announced multiple ticket and travel packages for the Mid-American Conference Championship Football Game after the Cardinals' clinched a spot in the contest Tuesday. Ball State (12-0, 8-0 MAC) beat Western Michigan University 45-22 Tuesday night in Scheumann Stadium to finish off its first perfect regular season since 1965.


FOOTBALL: Davis' legs help Ball State maintain perfection

Ball State quarterback Nate Davis is known across the country for his arm but on Tuesday in the Cardinals' 45-22 victory against Western Michigan it was his legs that did a lot of damage. Davis tied his career high with 64 rushing yards and had multiple crucial runs.

BSU student wins Red Bull 'extreme' contest

When Andrew Schilling opened up the briefcase topped with a Red Bull logo, he found a cell phone. When it rang, Schilling knew he would have to make his move - so he waited. And waited. Offensive skill playersWESTERN MICHIGAN - Ball State has the best backfield in the MAC with the tandem of quarterback Nate Davis and running back MiQuale Lewis. It doesn't have a set of triplets like Western Michigan. Broncos quarterback Tim Hiller has experienced the best statistical season at his position in the conference, leading the league with 3,382 passing yards and 33 passing touchdowns.


FOOTBALL: Athletics rescinds on ticket offer

After announcing a ticket voucher for the No. 15 Ball State University football team's expected bowl game Monday morning, the athletics department retracted the offer Monday afternoon. Associate Athletics Director Matt Wolfert said the e-mail announcing a free bowl ticket voucher for any student who attends today's game against Western Michigan University was inadvertently sent.


SPORTS FOR THOUGHT: Freshman guard shows maturity in debut game

His first collegiate shot was one he'd rather forget. Randy Davis drove from the top of the key with the shot clock waning and forced an off-balance, one-handed prayer. The shot hit high off the backboard, didn't draw rim and resulted in a shot clock violation.

Indiana food expo brings in $24,000 for Business Fellows class

The aroma of lamb, wine, pie, honey, assorted seasonings and chocolate truffles wafted through the air of the Minnetrista Cultural Center on Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. vendors from all around the state offered free samples and sold their products to customers at the Indiana Foodways Alliance's "Real Food, Real Indiana" expo.
