Students danced and twisted at Kappa Delta sorority's "Twister Tournament" Friday night in Irving Gym II.This tournament was a philanthropy event raising money and awareness for cancer. All proceeds from the tournament went to the American Brain Tumor Association.
The season opener for the Cardinals didn't go as planned. While Michigan's Krista Phillips was held to only six points on six shots, it was the supporting cast that stepped up and provided the lift to give the Wolverines a convincing 20 point victory, 87-67.
As the top finisher for Ball State University in her four races this year, redshirt junior Ali Bishel carried the cross country team on her back. Saturday, Bishel will again be asked to deliver as the lone representative for her team in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Indiana University.

In the first set, the Cardinals faced an early hole when they found themselves down 17-12. But Ball State was eventually able to even the score at 22 and win the set 25-23, finishing the game on a 13-6 run. Sophomore middle blocker Kelsey Brandl recorded seven kills in the first set, setting the tone for the Cardinals (13-15, 6-9 Mid-American Conference).
For Regan Patno and Julia Snyder, it all began with juggling. Ten years ago, the two performance artists met at a dance class. They both became interested in a classmate who had juggling skills. Patno and Snyder bonded because of their similar desire to learn this new trick.

Muncie citizens left City Hall disgruntled after the fiscal budget was finalized at a City Council meeting Friday night.The purpose of the meeting was to decide if City Council would accept or override the line vetoes, or amendments, made by Muncie Mayor Sharon McShurley on Monday.Council President Allison Quirk said if the vetoes were not accepted, $9,000 would be added back into the budget.
