Ball State’s accomplished seniors sent off with 5-set win against McKendree

The senior-laden starting rotation propelled the Cardinals to a victory in the class’s final home regular season match. After dropping the first two sets without holding a lead, No. 11 Ball State rallied to defeat No. 18 McKendree (14-11, 8-8 MIVA) in a five-set affair (21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-9) — earning the Cardinals sole possession of the MIVA regular season title.

Midnight Café & Grill serves up comfort food in the Village

Ernesto Polito grew up in Veracruz, Mexico, with dreams of starting a restaurant. On Friday, Jan. 19, he opened the doors to that dream — welcoming patrons to the Midnight Café & Grill, located on the western edge of the Village, a business district along University Avenue in Muncie.

Ball State men’s volleyball secures 3rd straight MIVA crown

Shondell — the son of the late Dr. Don Shondell, who led the Cardinals to 20 of their conference championships — will soon have to amend his pregame announcement. By sweeping Quincy (25-23, 25-17, 25-15) Thursday night, Ball State secured its third-straight and 24th-overall Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) regular season title.

Ball State Gymnastics falls to Illinois in NCAA Regional meet

The Cardinals fell to the Fighting Illini 195.825-195.775 in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Regionals Championships and ended the season ranked No. 34 nationally. Despite Ball State’s loss, five Cardinals will compete in the individual matchup April 4.
