SOFTBALL: Ball State splits doubleheader against Akron

The Ball State softball team dropped game one of today’s doubleheader against Akron 2-4. The Cardinals tried to mount a late rally but were stopped short.Two runs crossed the plate for Ball State on eight total hits -- each from a different batter.


Sisters join stand for awareness campaign

Sisters Jenna and Erin Kessler woke up on Friday to get honked at.Jenna Kessler, a senior nursing major, and Erin Kessler, a freshman nursing major, joined members of the International Justice Mission to take a stand against human trafficking and modern slavery.The group is standing for 27 hours in honor of the estimated 27 million slaves in the world.

Students take a stand for 27 hours against modern slavery

Students from Ball State's chapter of the International Justice Mission are standing for 27 hours at the Scramble Light from noon on Thursday to 3 p.m. on Friday to raise awareness of modern day slavery. In the event's second year, students from IJM will be joined by other student groups including University Singers, the Latino Student Union, and players from the football team.

The bells tolled Feb. 13 while the men and women of Dresden, Germany, and beyond stood together with hands joined. The line coiled through the streets to commemorate the city’s destruction at the hands of the American and British forces, 69 years before.
