Coaches Caravan Scheduled for May and June

The schedule for the 2014 Ball State Coaches Caravan has been set, including stops in Chicago and Indianapolis.The event gives fans an opportunity to meet and learn about Ball State athletics from Athletic Director Bill Scholl, football head coach Pete Lembo, men’s basketball head coach James Whitford and women’s basketball head coach Brady Sallee.This year’s first stop is

BASEBALL: Cardinals hold on to earn series win

After splitting its first two games with Akron, the Ball State baseball team needed to win today's rubber match to take the season series.The Cardinals used a lead-off walk followed by three consecutive singles to jump out to a 2-0 lead after the top of the first, but the Zips answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the frame to cut the deficit to one.Ball State then retook a two-run lead only to see Akron tie the score in the fifth on a wild pitch.

SOFTBALL: Ball State defeats Eastern Michigan on Senior Day

The softball team defeated Eastern Michigan 8-0 in five innings this afternoon on Senior Day at the Ball State Softball Complex for the first game of a weekend series.Starting pitcher Nicole Steinbach was able to blank the Eagles, tossing a complete game shutout.

Baseball: Cardinals drop series opener to Akron

After sweeping Central Michigan to move to first place in the Mid-American Conference’s West Division, the Ball State baseball team visited Akron, Ohio, today to start a three-game series with the Akron Zips.Starting pitcher T.J.

The only traveling moon rock sits on display April 25 in Pruis Hall. The moon rock came from a 19-pound chunk collected during Apollo 17's manned moon mission. It was the last manned mission to the moon. DN PHOTO ALAN HOVORKA

Students take chance to touch moon rock

Students had a chance to hold one of eight moon rocks on Earth available to the public. The rock was available as part of a NASA official presentation on the International Space Station on Friday at Prius Hall.
