Ball State students head to Ferguson, Mo.

A group of Ball State students are on their third day in Ferguson, Missouri, investigating the media’s role in the protests following 18-year-old Michael Brown’s death.“We think the issue is the press and there is nobody to report on them,” Alex Gracie, a senior video production major, said.After seeing reports and photos from journalists who had written and captured the media around Ferguson, where they were seen outnumbering the protestors two to one in some cases, Gracie and his friends decided to focus their efforts on how the media may be making the situation worse, he said.





City takes next steps with blight money

After receiving $2.88 million form the state to deal with abandoned homes, Muncie city officials met with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority on Monday via a webinar, where the agency detailed the next steps for the city.

Indiana told to honor other states; gay marriages

INDIANAPOLIS — A federal judge ruled Tuesday that Indiana must recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states, but says the ruling doesn't take effect until the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rules on the issue.
