The college student's guide to birth control

College students are having sex. The amount of 18-24 year-olds who reported doing “it” in the past 12 months is high —about 75 percent, according to a 2014 survey from the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. When it comes to birth control, 94 percent of 18-29 year-olds are confident they know how to prevent unplanned pregnancies.


Costs of a Wedding

The happiest day in many couples’ lives can also turn out to be the most expensive. The cost of getting married only continues to rise, causing many Millennials to delay marriage. The average wedding cost in 2014 was $31,213, which increased 4.5 percent from the previous year and that doesn’t include honeymoon costs, according to theknot.com.

Former Cardinals face-off in NFL matchup

In Oct. 26's Nation Football League action the Indianapolis Colts faced off against the New Orleans Saints in a matchup that had two former Cardinals on the same field for the first time since playing at Ball State.

Defense shows signs of improvement in loss

The Achilles' heel for Ball State thus far has been the inconsistency of the defense. This season, the Cardinals are allowing 484 yards per game to opposing offenses, which ranks 11th in the Mid-American Conference.

After raising more than $150,000 for the United Way of Delaware County last year, Ball State employees are working to beat that number this year. 



Real Pokémon Gym opening in Japan

A real Pokémon Gym is opening in Japan next month in Osaka through Sanoyas Interaction. The facility, labeled as hands-on edutainment, will be called Pokémon EXPO Gym and will feature various training regimes, as well as tips on using abilities.


RWBY Volume 3 trailer premieres

Rooster Teeth has released a new trailer for RWBY Volume 3. The trailer shows some scenes from the upcoming season, including shots of the tournament, all of the main characters fans know, some recently revealed characters and some new characters.   Volume 3 is the first season since the show’s creator, Monty Oum, passed away.
