Delaware County high school sports results from 11/27-12/2

Below are highlights and results from the past week’s Delaware County sporting events that those on the Daily News Sports Team were unable to attend. 

Monday (Nov. 27)

No results could be found. 

Tuesday (Nov. 28)

Yorktown girls’ basketball fell to Lapel on the road 60-40. Sophomore Lilly Sylvester led the scoring for the Tigers with 14 points. 

Wapahani girls’ basketball defeated conference foe Blue River Valley 42-33. Stats from the game could not be found. 

Cowan boys’ basketball dropped their second straight road game to open the season against Elwood 40-42. Stats from the game could not be found. 

Wes-Del boys’ basketball lost their first game of the season at home to Union City 61-39. The Warriors were led by junior Josiah Love with 13 points. 

Wednesday (Nov. 29)

Muncie Central boys’ basketball fell to Guerin Catholic 70-48. Stats from the game could not be found. 

Daleville girls’ basketball came up just short in their conference matchup against Randolph Southern, falling 60-56. The Broncos were led by sophomore Addi Gothrup, and senior Isabelle Williams with 21 and 17 points respectively.

Delta girls’ basketball defeated Winchester 58-47. Sophomore Elizabeth Bamidele led the Eagles with 20 points. 

Thursday (Nov. 30)

Cowan girls’ basketball defeated Hagerstown 48-37. Senior Davelynn Lindsay stuffed the stat sheet for the Blackhawks, posting 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Delta swim and dive competed in a dual meet with Mt. Vernon and Guerin Catholic. The girls took first place and the boys came in third. Some individual results included junior Zach Baty winning the 500 freestyle and junior Annie Jackson winning the 100 butterfly. 

Friday (Dec. 1)

Daleville boys’ basketball notched their first win of the season in a home conference matchup against Monroe Central 51-50. The Broncos were led by senior Koleman Newsome with 13 points and 7 rebounds.

Wapahani boys’ basketball defeated Winchester 78-44. Stats from the game could not be found. 

Saturday (Dec. 2)

Yorktown girls’ basketball defeated Muncie Burris 61-15 to improve to 5-2 on the season. Stats for the game could not be found.

Delta girls’ basketball fell to New Palestine 57-47. The Eagles were led by Bamidele with 18 points. 

Cowan boys’ basketball dropped their first conference game of the season at Shenandoah 54-51. Stats from the game could not be found

Delta boys’ basketball defeated Centerville 67-31. Senior D’Amare Hood led with 21 points. 

Wapahani girls’ basketball fell to Randolph Southern 49-43 to fall to 6-2 on the year. Stats from the game could not be found. 

Daleville boys’ basketball defeated Elwood 46-44. Senior Logan Leech hit the game-winning layup. Senior Koleman Newsome led with 19 points.
