In order to facilitate work on underground electric cables, multiple road closures were announced for different durations of time from the beginning of March through to mid-August at Ball State.
Indiana Michigan Power will begin work on underground electric cables that will serve the university.
Jill Belser, Facilities Information Coordinator for Facilities Planning and Management, sent two campus-wide emails Wednesday regarding these road closures on McKinley, University, and Tillotson avenues during the coming months.
McKinley Avenue closing:
The email directs individuals to contact Brent Baumer, assistant director of engineering for Facilities and Planning Management, for more questions regarding this closing.
From Ashland Avenue to Campus Drive:
From 7 a.m. March 2 to 5 p.m. March 10, McKinley Avenue between North Ashland Avenue and Campus Drive will be closed to all traffic for utility work. The northbound lane of Ashland Avenue and south bound lane of Campus Drive will remain accessible through McKinley Avenue during the closing.
University Avenue and Tillotson Avenue closings:
The email said utilities work will extend from the new high voltage substation located at the northwest corner of University and Tillotson Avenues, then along East University Avenue to and including the Heat Plant Drive. The work will be completed in sections in order to maintain a reasonable traffic flow around the area affected. The email directs individuals to contact Jim Lowe, associate vice president for Facilities Planning and Management, for more questions regarding these closings.
University Avenue intersection:
From March 11-27 the southbound lane of Tillotson Avenue will be closed from the substation south to the University Avenue intersection. Tillotson Avenue will narrow to two single lanes in the north and south directions at this location.
Heat Plant Drive:
From March 28 through June 6, the southbound lane from South Heat Plant Drive’s west lane to University Avenue will be closed. However, the northbound lane will stay open.
Tillotson avenue to the hospital entrance:
From May 7-24, the section of University Avenue from Tillotson Avenue to the hospital entrance will be closed to traffic.The hospital entrance will only be accessible from the east.

From May 27 through June 17, the section of University Avenue from the hospital entrance to the Glick Center for Glass Drive will be closed to traffic. The entrance to the hospital will be accessible only from the west. The Glick Center of Glass Drive will be accessible only from the east.
Glick Center for Glass Drive to Heat Plant Drive:
From June 18 through Aug. 15, the section of University avenue from the Glick Center for Glass Drive to Heat Plant Drive will be closed to traffic. The entrance to the Glick Center for Glass Drive will only be accessible from the west. The entrance to Heat Plant drive will only be accessible from the east.

Self-immolation outside Manhattan courthouse where Trump trial is adjourned

Azzarello was extinguished and rushed away by emergency services.
