Walt Disney World to allow dogs in hotels

In last week’s Disney Parks’ blog post, editorial content director Thomas Smith announced that four Disney World Resort Hotels would start allowing dogs starting yesterday.

A maximum of two dogs are allowed per guest room, and are permitted to stay at the Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, Yacht Club, and Cabins at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Resorts.

Disney’s announcement did not mention cat policies when it comes to the guest rooms, but Disney World offers pet boarding and kennel services for cats.

It wouldn’t be recommended to bring an overly protective canine though considering that the dogs must be well behaved and have proper vaccinations.

In addition, it would be wise to ensure a dog’s fur coat is thin enough for the Florida heat if owners wish to take it on the newly featured walking trails for the pets.

Considering that Walt Disney World is globally an ideal travel destination for families, the new policy can offer some relief for dog-owning families who are afraid to leave their pets at home or in a kennel.

The rates for pet cleaning rate per night run between $50-$75.

Pet merchandise specific to Disney is also coming soon to make the Disney experience all the more memorable for families.
