Ball State women's volleyball pulled through yet again in its evening match against Bradley winning in four sets, 26-24, 26-28, 25-22, 25-14.

Junior outside hitter Brooklyn Goodsel led the team with 17 kills, followed by junior Ellie Dunn with 14 kills and Emily Holland with 11 kills. Bradley was led in kills by Alissa Schovanec and Erica Haslag with 12 a piece.

Dunn had the winning point in sets one and three, she said her will to win was one of the reasons she was able to pull off both winning points.

“I think a lot of it [is I] hate to lose I’m not going to lose, I need to win,” Dunn said.

Sophomore setter Amber Seaman led the team with 47 assists, and added four kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Kate Avila led Ball State with 21 digs.

“Every time we go out we’re expecting tight matches where we’re going to have to claw and claw to win every single point, and I think tonight we did a good job of maintaining our composure at the tight points and then making sure we had our left sides between Ellie and Brooklyn they really came through at the end when we needed that big final point,” Miller said.

The Cardinals only converted three out of 15 set point situations. Head coach Kelli Miller was impressed with the challenge Bradley presented for their team and also complimented Bradley on the way that they played.

“I thought we did a nice job of really staying composed even though we had a lot of tight points at the end there, especially in the overtime set,” Miller said.

Ball State returns to action Saturday night against Fort Wayne at 7pm at Worthen Arena.
