Key Swimmers/Divers from Today:

1. Sophomore Cullen Tyler (first in 200-yard Individual Medley, 2:02.12)

2. Junior Banistre Lienhart (second in 200-yard Freestyle, 1:48.86)

3.  Junior Zach Toman (third in 100-yard Breaststroke, 1:01.57)

4. Sophomore Gabe Dean (second in three-meter diving, 198.08 points)

5. Senior Tanner Barton (third in 100-yard Butterfly, 53.37)

Ball State men's swimming and diving fell on the road to Eastern Michigan Jan. 14 by a score of 150-125.

One of the key events that made a difference for the Cardinals was the 200-yard freestyle. Junior Banistre Lienhart finished in second place with a time of 1:48.86. Lienhart was followed closely by freshman Adam Pongracz with a time of 1:52.28.

In the 100-yard backstroke freshman Ben Andrew finished in second place with a time of 54.13. Freshmen Logan Ackley and Chase Jackson finished third and fourth.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, sophomore Cullen Tyler placed second with a time of 1:00.57, followed closely by junior Zach Toman with a time of 1:01.57.

Ball State swept the 200-yard individual medley. Tyler placed first with a time of 2:02.12. Ackley and senior Jake Eckert finished in second and third.

On the one and three-meter diving, sophomore Gabe Dean placed second in both events. In the one meter, Dean scored 201.15 points, while on three-meter he finished with 198.08.

Ball State's next meet is at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 against Eastern Illinois and Indiana State.
