Three Thanksgiving DIY projects

Looking for some easy, inexpensive do-it-yourself projects to get into the Thanksgiving spirit? Try one of these projects.

Paper pumpkins

What you need:

 • Orange, white and green paper
 • Scissors
 • Hot glue gun

Instructions:

 1. Trace a design for the pumpkin and leaf or find some online. The pumpkin looks like a six petal flower with circles on the top. Cut them out.
 2. Trace the pumpkin design onto the orange and white paper. Cut it out.
 3. Hot glue the circles together. This will make a pumpkin.
 4. Roll green paper and cut it to the desired length of a stem.
 5. Trace the leaf onto green paper. Cut it out.
 6. Hot glue the leaf onto the top of the pumpkin.
 7. Hot glue the stem on top of the leaf.
 8. Decorate your desk or table with the pumpkins.

Thanksgiving Wreath:

What you need:

 • Wreath
 • Scrabble tiles
 • Fake leaves
 • Ribbon
 • Hot glue gun

Instructions:

 1. Hot glue ribbon onto the wreath so you can hang it.
 2. Hot glue fake leaves onto the wreath.
 3. Use the scrabble tiles to spell out a Thanksgiving phrase, like “season of giving.” If you’re lazy or don’t have tiles that spell out the word, just flip the tiles over and write on the tiles with sharpie.
 4. Hang up your wreath using a nail.

Twig Candle:

What you need:

 • Mason jar
 • Candle
 • Twigs
 • Hot glue gun
 • Ribbon

Instructions:

 1. Put the candle in the mason jar.
 2. Break twigs so they are all roughly the same height. Make sure they cover the whole mason jar.
 3. Hot glue the twigs to the jar.
 4. Tie a ribbon around the jar.
 5. Light and enjoy the rustic look of your candle. This decoration can last all year.
