America Multi-Sport will host a triathlon for kids ages 4-14 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on July 10. The event will be held at Tuhey Pool in Muncie.
Kids will swim in the pool before biking and running on a closed course. The order of events is the same as adult triathlons: swim, bike, run.
The distances vary per age group.
Children ages 4 through 6 will swim 25 meters, complete a .4 mile bike ride and a 100-yard run. Ages 7 through 10 will have a 100-meter swim, a 1.28 mile bike ride and a half-mile run. Participants ages 11-14 will complete a 200-meter swim, a 2.56 mile bike ride and a 1-mile run.
There is a limit of 50 kids per age group.
Participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal. The cost is $34 for all ages. Packet pick-up and on-site registration begin at 7 a.m. There will be a pre-race meeting at 8:30 a.m.
