'Smite' coming to PS4, gets shiny new subtitle

Sony has announced that Hi-Rez Studios' third-person MOBA, Smite, is finally coming to the PS4. The official name of the PS4 version of the game is Smite: Battleground of the Gods.

PS4 players will get access to exclusive skins when Smite launches later this year. Players can obtain the "World's Collide" skin for Odin by linking their PS4 accounts to their Hi-Rez account. The "KuKu4" skin for Kulkulkan will be given to all PS Plus members, and the "C4codemon" skin for Ymir can be obained through purchasing the PS4 Founder's Pack, or buying the skin separately during the closed beta.

Smite  will still uses the game's traditional free-to-play pricing scheme. Players will receive five gods for free, and can play with whatever gods are available in the weekly rotation. However, players who purchase the Founder's Pack for $29.99 will receive all of the game's present and future gods, 400 gems, a "Soldier of Fortune" skin for Ares, and guaranteed access to the closed beta.

Though no release date has been set, the game is set to launch on the PS4 later this year.
