The City of Muncie is opening City Hall and all seven fire stations to the public as warming centers due to expected cold temperatures for Jan. 17.

The warming centers will open to the public at 4 p.m. Jan. 17.

Temperatures are predicted to get down to about minus 1 with a wind chill factor as low as minus 17 by the morning of Jan. 18, according to the National Weather Service.

Delaware County will be under a wind chill advisory from 10 p.m. Jan. 17 until noon Jan. 18 due to the cold temperatures.

The cold winds can cause frostbite in just 30 minutes, according to the advisory, so be careful and bundle up when you're walking around campus.
