Winter Break is approaching and for many students, that means free time away from schoolwork and activities. This is a perfect time to binge watch some shows on Netflix. There are a lot to choose from so it can be hard to decide on a show to watch. Here are a few new shows that I recommend for people looking for something to watch over break.

1. “F is For Family”

Netflix is releasing “F is For Family” on Dec. 18, just in time for students to finish their finals and watch a whole season of a new show. This new animated adult-comedy series finds its roots loosely from the childhood of stand-up comic Bill Burr.

The show is set in 1973 and focuses on a father named Frank Murphy whose voice is done by Burr. Actors providing voices for his family members on the show are Haley Reinhart, Laura Dern and Justin Long.

This series should compare most to shows like “The Simpsons” or “King of the Hill.” It looks to be a good fit for any fan of mature, animated shows.

2. “Real Rob”

“Real Rob” is a new comedy series that follows the career and family life of comedian Rob Schneider. This new show was released earlier this month. It’s an exaggeration of Schneider's real life, written by himself, wife Patricia Azarcoya and friend Jamie Lissow, who is also a comedian.

Season one has been getting some unfavorable reviews so far but has 7.0/10 stars on IMDb from user reviews. Comedy television shows in particular tend to struggle to jump off to a powerful start in

their first season, so Schneider's new show may just be getting off the ground with its first season. I recommend it for any comedy show lovers out there, especially for people who enjoy Schneider's movies such as “The Bench Warmers,” “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo” and “The Hot Chick.”

3. “Master of None”

“Master of None” sticks to the same theme as the other two shows I have suggested. It is a comedy television series based on the life of comedian Aziz Ansari. Ansari plays Dev, an actor trying to make it big in New York.

The 10-episode season is perfect for binge-watching because each episode is only 30 minutes long and the comedy isn't overbearing. Also, there aren't too many characters being developed, so it should be easy to follow along without having to pay really close attention.

The show is being compared to “Louie” and “Seinfeld” because it is a comedy television series based off of a stand-up comic. However, it should be able to stand well on it's own. It is the perfect show to watch over winter break because it shouldn't take very long to watch the entire first season. This show would be good for people who like Ansari's comedy and miss his acting in “Parks and Recreation.”

These three shows are just a few recommendations of new shows that Netflix has to offer. All of them should be great for watching over break with their comedy that is perfect for laughing off the stress from fall semester.
