'Rocket League' getting Xbox One release, will not have cross-play

After great speculation of a new release, it was announced at The Game Awards that Rocket League will be released for Xbox One in February 2016. It will be complete with the same features, upgrades and content as the PC version. In addition, there will be Xbox One exclusive cares such as the Halo “HogSticker,” a version of the Warthog and the Gears of War “Armadillo.”

Unfortunately, the Xbox One version of Rocket league doesn’t allow cross-play matchmaking between systems.

This means a person playing on Xbox One cannot be played online with another system, such as PS4 or PC, while PS4 and PC can still be matched against one another. Although this is stated to be because of a general practice among titles, other games, such as Gigantic, offer cross-platform play.

Rocket League also won two awards last night: Best Sports/Racing Game and Best Indie Game.
