MUNCIE, IN (WCRD Weather) — As winter weather preparedness week comes to an official close on Saturday, just in time for our first potential snowfall of the year, it is important to remind ourselves about how to stay safe when we have to go out into the elements. From how to stay safe with your vehicle, to dressing in layers, and treating/preventing cold related injuries, there is a lot to keep in mind before braving what Indiana winters can throw at us. Forecasters Balint Szalavari, Caleb Saylor, and Ethan Rosuck help to guides us through the steps we need to take to stay safe.

While this marks the end of Winter Weather Week for WCRD, it should not be the end of your winter preparation. Make sure you stock up for, stay safe during, and stay aware of changing weather conditions. WCRD will keep you informed all winter long on the air at 91.3 FM, online at WCRD.net, and on Twitter by following @WCRDWX.
