Fourth Quarter

Western Michigan pulled its starters at the beginning of the fourth quarter. They scored on their first possession of the quarter with a 15-yard rush from Jarvion Franklin.

Ball State’s offense continued to struggle, punting back to the Broncos. Kyle Schmidt punted a season long kick of 64 yards.

The Broncos were running out the clock to end the game, but had to punt back to Ball State with 6:15 left in the game.

The backups were in for the Cardinals, down 47. Jack Milas was the quarterback, and Teddy Williamson was the running back.

Milas was intercepted almost immediately, putting the Broncos deep in their territory.

Western Michigan ran the clock out and defeated Ball State, 54-7.

Third Quarter

Ball State opened up the half with a three-and-out, with a sack on Riley Neal that finished off the short drive.

Western Michigan’s offense drove down the field and added on another score. Running back Jamuri Bogan ran it in from 12 yards out to make it 37-0, Broncos.

The Cardinals’ offense stalled before they got to midfield, being forced another punt to Western Michigan.

Led by a 29-yard rush by Bogan, Western Michigan drove down the field and added on a 41-yard field goal to make it 40-0, with 6:20 left in the third.

Neal showed off his running ability on Ball State’s next drive, the Cardinals crossed midfield for the first time in the second half.

James Gilbert ran 30 yards down the field to put the Cardinals in the red zone for the first time.

Neal found Dylan Curry for a 6-yard touchdown pass, but it was called back for an ineligible man down field.

On the next play, Jordan Williams hauled in an 11-yard touchdown pass from Neal for Ball State’s first points of the day. Ball State cut down the lead. It was 40-7, with 3:02 left in the third.

Right after the possession, Western Michigan completed a 76-yard touchdown pass to make the Broncos’ lead 47-7.

The Cardinals finished with the ball as the third quarter ended. They face a third down deep in their own territory.

Second Quarter

Western Michigan went for it on fourth-and-1, deep in Ball State’s territory putting the ball in the end-zone. 

On the next play, Terrell found Davis again for another touchdown pass from 17 yards out. The Broncos led, 14-0, early in the second quarter.

The Cardinals' offense continued to struggle. Freshman running back James Gilbert was stopped on third-and-1 forcing another punt from the Cardinals.

Terrell led the Broncos' offense down the field effectively, and Bellamy capped it off with a 9-yard touchdown run.

Julian Jackson blocked the extra point, and Western Michigan led 20-0 with 9:03 left in the half.

Jordan Williams dropped a first down catch, and Ball State punted once again, converting on only one third down conversion thus far.

Western Michigan's offense, led by Terrell, drove down once more. On third-and-20, Terrell found an open receiver for 32 yards into Ball State territory.

Terrell found Davis for his third score of the game to make it 27-0, Western Michigan.

Ball State punter Alex Egan fumbled the snap, getting hurt on the play. Western Michigan got the ball at Ball State's 32-yard line.

Western Michigan added a 21-yard field goal right before halftime.

At the half, Western Michigan leads 30-0.

First Quarter

Ball State won the toss and deferred, then committed a facemask penalty on the ensuing kickoff. Western Michigan got the ball at its own 29-yard line to start the game.

On the third play of the game, Western Michigan quarterback Zack Terrell found Corey Davis for a 65-yard touchdown pass. The Broncos led 7-0 with over 14 minutes left in the first quarter. That was their sixth scoring drive under a minute this season.

The Cardinals opened up on offense with a three-and-out. They gave the ball right back to Western Michigan near midfield.

Linebacker Ben Ingle sacked Terrell in the Cardinals' territory to end the Broncos' drive, forcing them into a punt.

Riley Neal got drilled as he threw a deep pass on third-and-11, and Western Michigan was called for a defensive holding. This gave Ball State the ball near midfield. The Cardinals were forced to punt soon after, though.

On the ensuing drive, linebacker Zack Ryan forced a fumble and safety Martez Hester recovered. Ball State had the ball at the Western Michigan 34-yard line.

The Cardinals' offense could not get anything going in the first quarter. Another three-and-out led to a career-long 48-yard field goal attempt from Morgan Hagee, which he missed wide right.

Western Michigan was in field goal range as the first quarter ended. The Broncos lead, 7-0.
