For the first time since 2009, the Ball State gymnastics team will host the Mid-American Conference Championships at Worthen Arena on March 19.

Ball State has hosted the tournament five other times in its history and will once again hold home-court advantage.

For five of the seniors on this year's team, home court will be different as they will be shifting home competitions from the Jo Ann Gora Student Recreation and Wellness Center to Worthen Arena.

The team will have four home competitions this season before the MAC championships.

"I really want to see some big crowds to fill the seats and give us that same energetic environment we are used to having at our home meets,” head coach Joanna Saleem said in a statement.

Ball State was 3-10 overall last season, going 2-2 while at home. The record was not a testament of the team's ability as they kept every competition close.

The Cardinals will open up their season in Lexington, Kentucky, on Jan. 8, 2016.
