Dead Secret brings a new level of horror

A new horror game brings dread and mystery to another reality--virtual reality, that is.

Dead Secret, created by Robot Invader, is a first-person game coming to PS3 and PS4 in January 2016 and PlayStation VR later.

The game focuses on a reclusive man found dead in his study. It’s up to the player to become both journalist and investigator to decipher many hints and clues to find the murderer and bring justice for Mr. Harris Bullard.

Stated from PlayStation’s official website:

"Designed for console and VR, Dead Secret is a mystery thriller in which you play as an ambitious journalist on a mission to make headlines. To get the story, you’ll have to comb the crime scene for clues and decipher the mystery of Bullard’s twisted past. Uncover secret documents, explore the dead man’s home, and piece together the puzzle to name the killer. But keep your wits about you — Bullard took his secrets to the grave, and somebody wants them to stay there."

Dead Secret has been a work in progress since 2013, but the development team at Robot Invader decided to jump ship and optimize the game for PlayStation VR in 2014. The game is now “a uniquely hybrid game” designed for virtual reality, but functioning well on console.

Chris Pruett and Casey Richardson, the founders of Robot Invader, were deeply influenced by games such as Clock Tower, Siren and Deadly Premonition. The two had been thinking about writing a scary game for over a decade.

Dead Secret is focused on mystery,” Pruett said. “But we made sure that there is a hefty dose of dread in there too.”

Pruett describes the game as “something of a love letter” to classic horror and mystery games and hopes that fans of the genre will be “particularly delighted.”

Dead Secret will release in January 2016 with Cross Buy support.
