Organ Haunted Trail is not just scaring the Muncie community, but they're also giving back to the community as well.

This haunted house located off of Grant Street is in its 4th year of business.

Last year the haunted house raised $1,800 dollars for a family of a young man killed in a motorcycle accident.

Canned goods for the Second Harvest Food Bank were also collected by Organ Trail last year.

Michael Keihn owner of the house haunt said he was inspired to build the haunted house after the loss of his son.

“After my son died in 2012 I knew I wanted to find a way to give back to the Muncie community. I loved haunted houses and always wanted to build one.”

Keihn said his others kids are very involved in the trail as well.

Keihn has turned his yard into a tunnel full of attractions. Each room within the tunnel having its own theme.

Kris Barrett next door neighbor says this will be the first year she actually gets a chance to experience the haunt.

“People seem to really enjoy it. I have never been through it before but I plan on going through the haunt this year.”

This year is the first year the building commissioner’s office became aware of the attraction Keihn said.

Keihn said with the building commissioner and the Mayor on board they’re big plans for Organ Trail in the future.

“We are looking for this year to be our last home haunt, we are hoping to go pro next year.”

The haunted house will be open October 30 and 31, all proceeds collected on these days will go to Second Harvest Food Bank.
