Starting in 2016, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be streaming on Netflix in Canada only.
The reason for it not streaming it in the United States or anywhere else is because of the premium cable channel Starz, who has a deal with Disney to play their movies until the end of 2015, which includes Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Netflix has a deal between Disney to stream their movies in the U.S., but that does not begin until 2016. In order for people in the U.S. to stream Star Wars, they will need to have a subscription to Starz.
For Starz, movies are usually made available for streaming right after the movie is no longer in theaters. Netflix subscribers will have to wait eight months after The Force Awakens leaves the theater.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18, 2015.
