With Halloween just around the corner, you may still be searching for the perfect costume. Here's some tips on how to be the best dressed at the party.

1. Be creative: Don’t buy the already packaged costume, show your creative side by picking a theme and then shopping on your own.

2. Spend Less: Look through your closet for some costume ideas. You can mix and match old costumes to form a new look.

3. Dress as a Group: Everyone in your social circle saves money this way, and you can look to your friends if you’re stuck on an idea.

4. Smart not Sexy: Although it's a college Halloween party, you don't want to have a wardrobe malfunction that's all over Instagram.

5. Look at Pop Culture: Use the current TV shows, movies and celebrities for inspiration. Whether it’s Amy Schumer, The Walking Dead, or Miley Cyrus, what's popular in culture can be popular as a costume.

6. Double Check: Make sure your costume isn’t offensive. Don’t use negative or sensitive subjects like Lamar Odom, Caitlyn Jenner, Pope Francis or Cecil the Lion. Be smart about what you choose.

7. Be Practical: Will your costume last all night? Avoid uncomfortable shoes, obnoxious props and excessive makeup.

8. Don’t Repeat: If you’re going to multiple parties don’t wear the same costume. Switch it up.

9. Double It: Coordinate with your BFF or bae. It will make memories for the future.

10. Have Fun: Don’t let your costume ruin your Halloween. Choose wisely and you will have a blast.
