'Fallout 4' mods, DLC revealed

The hype for the much anticipated Fallout 4 has been growing steadily since its announcement this summer. With the release of game looming in the near future, Bethesda posted some more information about the upcoming entry.

Firstly, Bethesda noted that they would continue support for the game long after its launch. This mainly consists of regular updates, which will include patches and game fixes. In some instances, these updates will also include new features and additions to gameplay.

Secondly, in an effort to keep the game open and let players create their own unique experiences, the company announced that it would be supporting game mods, as they have with their previous games. They announced that they will be releasing modding tools, named Creation Kit, free of charge for the PC in early 2016. These are the same tools used in-house at the Bethesda studios. However, the biggest announcement concerning mods is that they would also be making their way to PS4 and Xbox One, which normally miss out on the modding scene.

Finally, Bethesda reported that they would be selling a season pass for future DLC for $30. They currently do not know what will be included in the DLC, but they estimate multiple expansions that will total around $40 at retail price, with potentially more if they feel it is necessary. The season pass would grant purchasers access to any packs released. They stated that the DLC for Fallout 4 will be comparable to the DLC they made for their previous games, such as Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3.

Fallout 4 will be launching on Nov. 10 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
