Swackhamer named MAC Offensive Player of Week

Senior Chelsy Swackhamer helped Ball State get off to a 2-0 start in Mid-American Conference play and has been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week.

Swackhamer scored a goal in the Cardinals' 2-1 win over Eastern Michigan on Sept. 25, her third consecutive match with a goal.

She attempted seven shots during the week, three of which were on goal. Ball State outshot its opponents 40-14 over the weekend while controlling the matches. Swackhamer is tied for the lead on the Cardinals with three goals this season.

Swackhamer is the third member of the team to win a MAC weekly award this season, joining Abbie Boswell and Alyssa Heintschel.

Ball State will return to action on Oct. 2 with a road match against Toledo before traveling to take on Central Michigan Oct. 4.
