we unearthed some compelling evidence that suggests Knope's beloved town of Pawnee, Indiana is really Muncie.
Some of us watch the Super Bowl for the nail-biting sports moments, but others... "Oh my gosh, is that a puppy?"
Here are the most notable commercials of Superbowl XLIX:
1The traditional commercial
Okay, Budweiser, ya liars. This tearjerker commercial is here to stay. In Budweiser’s commercial, a golden retriever puppy bonds with Clydesdales. Later in the commercial, the Clydesdales rescue the puppy from a hungry, angry wolf. #bestbuds
2 The "lol wut" commercial
This SquareSpace commercial starts out with Jeff Bridges, aka ‘The Dude’ from The Big Lebowski ohm-ing while someone sleeps in a bed next to him.
The screen then shows: dreamingwithjeff.com. Lol, wut? No seriously, what? I'm too lazy to google it.
3 The "makes you think" commercialThis Always commercial asks boys to run, jump, throw and fight like a girl. The boys show wimpy punching and throwing.
A voice asks, “Did you just make fun of your sister?”
One little boy says, “No…well, yes.” The commercial then shows girls running, jumping, and fighting ‘like a girl.'
An off-camera voice asks, “What does it mean to run like a girl?” The little girl replies, “To run as fast as I can.”
Thanks, Super Bowl, so now I'm supposed to question my thought process AND eat all these chicken wings? This is supposed to be a holiday.
4The on-point commercial
This Esurance commercial talks about "sorta you" coverage by using Lindsay Lohan as a kid's "sorta mom," picking him up in a wrecked mini van and driving recklessly.
Jokes on you, Esurance, I'd LOVE to have Lindsay Lohan as my mom. Plus, I'd have an awesome aunt with a terrible British accent.
5The "save the world" commercial
Coca Cola always has a save-the-world commercial.
This year, Coke focused on cyber bullying. The commercial started out with, “I hate you, I hate you.”
Coca Cola is spilled on computer servers, which leads to kind posts all around. The commercial ends with #makeithappy.
6The honorable mention commercial
This honor goes to the BMW i3 commercial.
The commercial takes a clip from Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel talking about ‘this internet thing’ 20 years ago.
The pair were making fun of the @ symbol use in email addresses, and Couric says, “Hey, can you explain this internet thing?”
Fast-forward to 2015 and Couric and Gumbel are riding in the BMW i3 all-electric vehicle, still trying to puzzle out the new technology.
