The University of Michigan fired former Ball State football head coach Brady Hoke Tuesday.
Hoke coached the Wolverines from 2011 through 2014, finishing with a record of 78-70.
“When you make a decision to change somebody’s life, you better take the time to think about it,” Michigan interim athletic director Jim Hackett said. “In this case, I did take the time. I was very deliberate about it.”
Prior to coaching at Michigan, Hoke led Ball State to a 34-38 record from 2003-08. In Hoke’s final year, the Cardinals went 12-0 during the regular season, the only perfect regular season in program history.
Hoke is owed a $3 million buyout from Michigan according to ESPN.com.
