The Ball State soccer team began its 2014-15 season today with a 1-1 draw against IUPUI in an exhibition match at the Briner Sports Complex.

Jasmine Moses scored the Cardinals' lone goal, a header from a free kick by teammate Elaina Musleh during minute 17.

IUPUI tied the score three minutes into the second half, courtesy of a free kick goal by Alyssa Fox.

Ball State head coach Craig Roberts said he was pleased with how his team performed, and he thinks the preseason was successful.

"I liked what I saw from the girls in preseason, and they continued to show the play I've been looking for," Roberts said.

The Cardinals begin the regular season against IPFW at  5 p.m. on Aug. 22  at the Briner Sports Complex. Ball State fell to IPFW 0-1 last season.
