BASEBALL: Team loses to Indiana State, 7-9

The Ball State Cardinals fell to the Indiana State Sycamores 7-9 this afternoon at Ball Diamond.

There were 26 total hits in the game full of offense.

The Cardinals had 10 total hits. Ball State was led in the game by leadoff hitter Alex Call with 3-4 in the game. He also was Ball State's leader in RBIs with two. Freshman Jarett Rindfleisch also had two RBIs in the game.

On the mound, Ball State used eight pitchers, with none throwing more than 2.2 innings. Alex Maloney, Nestor Bautista and Scott Baker allowed no runs in their time.

With the loss, Ball State's record drops to 32-16. 

The team will return to action Friday with a Mid-American Conference home game against Kent State. The game will begin at 3 p.m. to start the three-game weekend against the Golden Flashes.
