After working for the Notre Dame athletic department for 22 years, Bill Scholl was announced as the new Ball State athletic director in late April 2012.

Prior to taking the Ball State job, Scholl had been Notre Dame’s deputy athletic director.

Scholl signed a contract worth $235,000 annually for three years.

After Scholl applied, President Jo Ann Gora said he was a leading candidate throughout the two-month process. He was the first of 15 candidates who had phone interviews.
