The Unified Media Lab was officially dedicated today in a ribbon cutting ceremony that involved student leaders, alumni and President Jo Ann Gora.

Mark Holden, director of the Ball State University Foundation, and his wife, Debbie, were the primary philanthropists behind the funding for the new center.

The lab started functioning as a newsroom for student media Feb. 9. Located in the Art and Journalism Building Room 278, it is home to Ball Bearings, The Ball State Daily News, NewsLink Indiana and WCRD. It will expand during the summer to include an in-house studio for both WCRD and NewsLink Indiana.

The lab is an addition to the Holden Strategic Communication Center, which was completed last summer.
