Hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey brought the laughs and the best jokes this year opening up the 71st annual Golden Globes. This is the second time the real life best friends hosted the show joking, “Hollywood keeps doing something till it doesn’t work anymore.”

The former SNL duo poked fun at Bradley Cooper’s hair saying American Hustle was originally supposed to be titled “Explosion at the Wig Factory” and congratulating Matthew McConaughey on losing 45 pounds for his role in Dallas Buyers Club by saying it’s, “what actresses call ‘being in a movie.’”

It was only about 30 minutes into the three-hour–long show, and eight awards had already been given out when Sean “Diddy” Combs brought it upon himself to give the best advice: “keep drinking, it will be over soon.”

Jennifer Lawrence won the first award of the night for Best Supporting Actress for “American Hustle.” She was also probably the most honest, admitting that she hadn’t seen all the movies nominated this year. She said, “I actually did watch all the movies this year, I mean not all the movies, but you know what I mean.”

And what is a live award show without the typical mess up? Jonah Hill was presenting “The Wolf of Wall Street” when things did not go as planned.

“I’m not gonna lie to you, they put up the wrong stuff on the teleprompter,” said Hill.

Every year at the Golden Globes it is tradition that the daughter of a celebrity is given the title of Miss Golden Globe. This year the Hollywood Foreign Press awarded the honor to Sosie Bacon, the daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.

Apparently, Fey has a son named “Randy” who the duo deemed as this year’s Mr. Golden Globe. He rocks Justin Bieber’s hair and is a little rude. He also looks suspiciously a lot like co-host Poehler (who was posing as Fey’s son to get the award.)

Most of the winners appeared to either be at a loss for words or just had a lot of people to thank, because the music that plays to tell them they are out of time felt like it was playing throughout the entire night.

Cate Blanchett was giving her speech for her performance in “Blue Jasmine” when the music started to play she asked, “Can people at home here this music or do they think I’m suddenly having a panic attack?”

“12 Years a Slave,” “American Hustle,” and “ Behind the Candelabra” lead all nominees this year, but the big winner of the night was “Breaking Bad.”

The AMC crime drama won Best Drama TV Series and Bryan Cranston took home Best Actor in a Drama TV Series for his role as Walter White.

Tina Fey closed the hilarious show by thanking the audience and saying it was “the beautiful mess that [they] hoped it would be.”
