The parking services office in the basement of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center closed for flooding this morning.
Around 9 a.m. a hot water line burst in the room adjacent to parking services. Gene Burton, University Police Chief, said the office and hallway filled with about an inch and a half to two inches of water.
Water was entering the parking services office from both the entrance and exit, causing it to close until 12:30 p.m.
Burton said he isn’t sure of the cause, but he doesn’t think it was weather related. He said they haven’t run into any other problems like this on campus for the first week of classes.
