WOMEN'S TENNIS: Ball State falls to Cleveland State

Ball State women’s tennis team fell on the road to Cleveland State 4-3 Sunday afternoon.

The team won the doubles point after the duo of sophomore Courtney Wild and freshman Courtney Earnest and the duo of freshman Bethany Moore and junior Kristel Sanders won their respective matches. 

From there, Ball State fell behind in the singles competition by only winning two points. Moore won at No. 4 singles by defeating Kara Sherwood in three sets, 7-6, 3-6, 10-6. Wild won at No. 1 singles for Ball State when she defeated Mathilde Orange in three sets also, 6-7, 6-1 12-10.

Cleveland State took wins in singles play at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to win the match. 

The loss is the fourth consecutive loss for Ball State, all coming on the road. The team is now 7-5 on the season after starting the season by winning seven of its first eight matches of the spring season.
