Ball State issues notice after positive case of Typhoid Fever at Purdue

After a confirmed case of Typhoid Fever at Purdue University, Ball State University sent out a Public Safety Notice to warn students on Thursday.

A food handler at Purdue tested positive and health offiicals said anyone who ate on-campus food at at Purdue from January 23-25, 2013, could be at risk.

Symptoms include a high fever, weakness, stomach pains, headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea or loss of appetite and can begin eight to 14 days after exposure. Symptoms can delay for up to 30 days.
