A student was attacked at approximately 3 a.m. Friday at Dicks Street and Riverside Avenue.
According to a public safety notice
issued by the University Police Department, the male victim was walking
home from the Village when he was attacked.
The victim told police two black males attacked him with a type of sharp object, possibly a box cutter.
He was able to escape, and the attackers left the scene.
The victim was treated at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for facial injuries and was later released.
In the public notice, UPD encourages students to travel in groups and be aware of their surroundings.
